The Power Of Christmas

  |  Speaker: Pastor Larry Kapchinsky
Pastor Larry Kapchinsky

The Power Of Christmas

Pastor Larry Talks about The Power Of Christmas. The power of christmas says in Matthew 1:21:  “She will bear a Son; and you shall call his name Jesus, for it is he who will save his people from their sins.  Now all this took place that what was spoken by the lord through the prophet might be fulfilled: saying, ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel.’  Which, translated, means ‘God with us.’  And Joseph arose from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took her as his wife, and kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a son; and he called his name Jesus.”

How To Get Your Prayers Answered

Pastor Larry talks about how to get your prayers answered. There are Four Steps to take to get your prayers answered. The first and most important step for getting answers to your prayers is this: Find scriptures that definitely promise you the specific thing you are praying for. The second step for answered prayer is this: You must ask God for what you want and believe that you receive it. The third step for getting your prayers answered is this: Thank God for the answer, before you can see it. The fourth and final step for answered prayer is this: Let every thought affirm that you have the answer to your prayer.

Being The Church In Times Of Terror

  |  Speaker: Pastor Larry Kapchinsky
Pastor Larry Kapchinsky

Being The Church In Times Of Terror

Pastor Larry talks about being the church in times of terror. To ask, “What does it mean to be the church in times of terror?” is really to ask a question about our identity. How does a people gathered by, in, and around the Crucified and Resurrected One respond to inexplicable evil and suffering? Besides that, terror has many faces. The destructive terror of evil is a prodigious shape-shifter. Terror may take the form of cancer or infection or grave injury. It may be a wildfire or flood that wipes out entire communities. Or perhaps an addiction or mental illness that steals someone we love, making them unrecognizable to us. Point is, not every terror confronting the church will be unleashed by a madman who kills with a gun or a madman who kills by royal decree. And for a people determined by the Cross and Resurrection, I don’t know how much of a difference it makes if the terror that comes to us takes the form of a man with a gun, or starvation, or famine, flood, fire, or plague. Being the church means having the capacity to absorb suffering and evil rather than inflicting them.

My Power Is Made Perfect In Weakness

  |  Speaker: Pastor Joshua Kapchinsky
Pastor Joshua Kapchinsky

My Power Is Made Perfect In Weakness

Pastor Josh talks about Paul and how our power is made perfect in weakness. Paul said that God allowed the weakness in his life to protect him from pride, assuring him that, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is perfected in weakness.” So if you feel weak today, you can give God praise for it. You can say, “Lord, thank You for protecting me from spiritual pride and keeping me in a place where I can speak for You. I can go to anybody in the city and say to them, ‘The Lord has been merciful to me. I am not the strongest of people in His kingdom, yet He has touched me. His healing is beginning to flow in my life and He is changing me sovereignly by His power.’”  I know you feel that God is asking you to do something that works against your strengths. But God has called you and that means his strength is working through you and that will make you sufficient for the task. God’s Word says your weaknesses, doubts, and insecurities are no surprise to God. You may try to hide them from others, but you can’t hide them from the one who created you. The truth is, God created you with weaknesses. And, since he’s God, he couldn’t have made a mistake. Is it possible he created you with weaknesses in order to keep you on your knees before him? With you dependent upon him, you’re able to do all things through him who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13–14).
